Day #45 - Care Packages and Deployments

A week or so ago I wrote about how I sent the Mr. his Christmas themed package. Now that he got it (in a little over a week!) I can post the pictures!

The first step was decorating the box

Then I filled this stocking with a reindeer Pez dispenser, candy canes, and photos of us.

I bought a card with Snoopy and Woodstock on the cover and wrote the inside as if Sasha, our puppy, wrote it.
(Frank said he was glad he opened the box in private, but I thought it was fun!)

I also included some framed photos of us.

This was the end result!

I felt I worked pretty hard on it. Decorating the flaps was the hardest part! I also added some bows on flaps to replace the "i"s. I bought some cheap mini ornaments that I taped inside. He also got two bags of Seattle's Best Coffee and a towel. He kept saying how badly he needed one of those. Better yet, it was $1.49 at Target!

I sent him a few more boxes since then (I think five?) and am still waiting for him to get them. They're filled with things he might be missing from home. I tried to send him cookies, but I dropped the container when I was carrying them in the house and the spilled all over the ground! I was so upset! I guess that means I'll have to send him the cookies my mom and I make!

A couple days ago I got a picture from him in the hills of the 'Stan.

Obviously faces are blurred to protect those in the photo. Since I don't have permission, I won't post them.

The other week he told me he mailed me a Christmas gift from where he is. My only hints are it may need adjusted when I get it and it's unique. I don't know anything else. I've been checking the mailbox every day, so excited to find it in there, but it hasn't happened yet. Fingers crossed for tomorrow! My guess is it's jewelry. What's your guess?

I hear from him every day, which will most likely change soon, but for now I enjoy being spoiled. He doesn't call me as often, but we chat online daily, which helps save on minutes for his phone. I know I have no reason to worry about him if I don't hear from him, so if he can't call or chat online, I doubt I'll instantly worry.

Overall things have been going well. I've been with my parents for the last few weeks and will be here for about another two. I'm enjoying not being in a quiet home and love having someone with me every day.
